Macros

Introduction:

When using Microsoft Word and other word processing software, a lot of time is wasted performing the same task over and over again. Writing a small program called a macro will automate those tasks for you. When you create a macro you record all the steps needed to perform a specific task. When finished, you then run the macro to perform the steps rather than doing them manually yourself.

Macros are typically used to speed up editing or formatting of a document, to combine multiple commands or to automate an entire series of more complex tasks.

Boilerplates

Introduction:

Boilerplates are a unit of writing that can be used over and over again without change. You can think of a boilerplate as a template with some fill-in-the blanks. Boilerplates are usually used in contracts, disclaimers, bank loans and other legal agreements. An example of a boilerplate would be a standard application contract for a car loan. Boilerplates are rarely changed due to their standard nature so all parties involved in an agreement are not misled.

Boilerplates can also be used in the creation of web pages, emails and proposals.
