Have students become familiar with the terms associated with a budget using a dictionary or the internet.
Have students design a monthly budget for themselves.
Present students with various situations and have them develop a budget for the given situation. Once their budgets are complete, give them some unforeseen situations and have them determine how they would fit these into their budgets. Have them discuss the effects on their budget.
Have students develop a budget for a city, town or some large company. Once completed have them find a similar budget to compare to the one they created. Discuss similarities/differences. Have students do a written assignment.
