Capture Card - a circuit board installed into a PC expansion card slot, which enables the user to record digital or analog video from an external source.
Claymation - animation where a picture is taken of a model, usually made out of clay, and then manipulated so that there is a small difference in the shape of the model, then a second picture is taken and the whole process is repeated. Also called Stop Motion Animation
Codec - the compression or decompression software that you use with digital graphic images. It's built into many digital media applications. For example in QuickTime Pro you have codecs like Sorenson, Cinepak, or Photo Jpeg. It's important to know a bit about codecs so you can choose a suitable codec to display your panoramic image over the Internet.
Compression

- any method of condensing data so that it can be stored in
less space. Many graphics/sound files are compressed so they can be
downloaded faster.
- Lossless Compression: A method of file compression where there
is no loss of data.
- Lossy Compression: A method of compression that sacrifices some
loss of data to achieve greater compression.

Controller - the controller bar seen in a QuickTime movie player. It allows manipulation of the panoramic image or object.
