Safe Playground Managers

This topic provides teachers and administrators a process for implementing a safe playground managers program. Safe playground managers are students helping students solve problems on the playground.

  • Outline the conflict resolution process to students.
  • Identify interested students. Grade 5 and 6 students seem to be the most reliable candidates.
  • Seek parental permission.
  • Train students to resolve playground issues.
  • Set up schedule for students to go on to playground with the younger (usually grades K - 3) students
  • Monitor program.
