INTRODUCTION

Students with a wide variety of disabilities can benefit from the use of assistive technology to support their learning. From providing an opportunity for a student in some way to impact his or her environment to providing a vehicle for creative story writing, assistive technology provides the tools. Assistive technology can effectively level the learning playing field for students with disabilities and allow them to take part in activities from which they would be excluded because of their disabilities.

Assistive technology can be used to support any number of activities in the classroom (or any other site):

  • Cutting
  • Print Production
  • Arts Education activities
  • Literacy
  • Independence
  • Communication
