Regina Hospital Schools

What are the Regina Hospital Schools?
The schools are a provincial program sponsored by the Department of Learning and facilitated through Regina Public Schools. This program provides educational services to some of the school-age clients utilizing services of the Regina General and Pasqua Hospitals and Wascana Rehabilitation Centre in Regina.

Wascana Rehabilitation Centre – Children’s Program

Regina General Hospital - Pediatric Unit

Regina General Hospital – Adolescent Unit

Pasqua Hospital – Pediatric Unit

Whom do the schools serve?
The schools provide educational services to preschool and school-aged students who are receiving services from the Regina Qu’appelle Health Authority while located in Regina Hospitals and Rehabilitation Centre. These students may be students of any School Division from Regina or other areas of Saskatchewan.

Wascana Rehabilitation Centre School

- full-time students who either require intensive therapy or have intensive medical needs which can not be met outside of this therapeutic setting
- students attending from the ward who are receiving therapy or respite while resident on the ward for a short-term (usually 2 weeks or less)

Regina General Hospital Pediatric and Adolescent Unit Classrooms

 - students who are receiving acute, treatment or psychiatric care while resident on these units
Pasqua Hospital Classroom - students who are receiving acute, treatment or psychiatric care while resident on these units
Home Tutorial - Regina students who are no longer inpatients of the Health Region and have returned home and are still unable to attend school due to illness or injury
- secondary students receiving rehabilitation in the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre receive individual tutorial services.

School Partnership

There has been a formal partnership with the Regina Cosmopals since May 1999.

The Cosmopals have supported the schools informally since 1953.
