Managing Windows in Word

1. Open your "2004" document.

2. In the top right hand corner you will see three buttons that control the window.

3. Click on the middle button it looks like two squares overlapping this is called the "Restore down / Maximize" button.

4. Your window will shrink. You will see your word document as well as your desktop.

5. Move the cursor along any of the outside edges of this window and you will notice that a little black double arrow will appear.

6. By clicking and dragging these arrows you will be able to adjust the size of the window.

7. Try and adjust the window so that it takes up the entire left hand side of your screen.

8. Click on the first button it looks like a minus sign, this is your minimize button.

9. It will appear that your document disappeared. However if you look at the bottom of the page you will see a little tab called "2004."

10. Click on this tab and your document window will again be displayed.

11. The last button is the X button it is your close button. As we do not have any changes to save, simply close your "2004" document by clicking on the X.
