COLLABORATION: Steps in CPPT  - Assessment Case Study

Assessment needs to determine if the objectives have been met. The teacher-librarian can encourage the team to align the assessment to the key priorities of the objectives.  Assessment should also include the collaborative partnerships and a project assessment.

Did the  students get an opportunity to self-assess their process and the products of their work?

Students were given an activity or response sheet for each mini-unit in the project to reflect on their work. As well at the end of the project, students were asked to assess their learnings in various media literacy objectives.

Did the teacher(s)  assess each of the objectives in the study using a variety of strategies?
Each unit has assessment tools and rubrics to determine how well the learning objectives were met.

Students need to receive their work with copies of the assessment tools or comments of some sort.

Did the teacher(s)assess their project?
Discuss and record. What went well? What needs to change? How did the students respond? Use this information to plan your next learning experience as well as the next time you use this unit.
