Information is a key concern for teacher-librarians; concerns include public sector versus private sector laws. There are two sides to this coin with the twin themes that public information is accessible and private information is protected. In Saskatchewan, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner oversees three statutes:
•  Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP)
•  Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act ( L.A. FOIP)
•  Health Information Protection Act (HIPA)
