7.2 The Contents of a Theatrical Make-up Kit

This list for a basic make-up kit should get you by for most applications. Special considerations for make-up can be taken into account for individual actors. It is important to have an ample supply of basic materials and tools to cover the needs of any cast.

A basic make-up kit includes the following items:

  • Foundation (grease paint, pancake, cream/liquid)
  • Features (highlight and shadow creams)
  • Rouge & Blusher
  • Setting Material (powder)
  • Eye Make-up (shadow, pencil liners, mascara)
  • Lip Make-up (Lip Pencil)
  • Applicators (brushes, puffs, sponges, foams)
  • Cleansers and Skin-Care Products
  • Miscellaneous Items
  • A Storage Container
