Further Learning Opportunities

This section covers the basics of make-up and hair for the stage. Students who complete activities quickly or express an interest in carrying their knowledge further have a lot of room to move.

There are many good books dedicated to stage make-up. You can refer to the Theatre Arts 20, 30 Bibliography in html or in pdf format for a list of these resources. A couple of the resources we preferred are listed in the resource sections of this module.

In make-up, students can explore gory effects, era specific make-up applications, face painting and more. The key is to follow the planning process and use basic techniques outlined here to accomplish these goals.
