8.2 Striking

  1. Personal Belongings: Actors and crew must remove all personal belongings and clean up any garbage on set and in dressing rooms. This will facilitate the removal and storage of other equipment.
  2. Costume: Costumes must be hung or packed away, ready for cleaning or shipping. Be sure that all items check out on the inventory before storing or shipping.
  3. Props: Props go back to the prop shop and are stored with like-objects. Props may come in useful for other plays. Always inventory your props... some tend to find new homes if not accounted for.
  4. Sets: Sets must be dismantled and stored properly. Flats can be stripped and stored. Be sure to store any attaching hardware with the flats. Tape pins in hinges and store flats upright and neat, ready for use in future productions.
  5. Technical Equipment: Once all other equipment is out of the way, technical equipment must be packed and stored. Use proper cases for all technical equipment. Special lighting devices should be hung in a storage area. Sound and video equipment must be stored in cases and all chords must be wrapped neatly and tied to avoid tangles in the future.
  6. Return all rented or borrowed equipment promptly to avoid late charges and to keep a healthy relationship with your suppliers.
