8.3 Backstage Communication

Communication between the Stage Manager and the Crew during a production can make or break the show. The actors depend on things to run smoothly and are concerned with their performance, not with technical aspects of the play. In order for communication to be efficient and effective proper backstage communication Etiquette must be followed. The Stage Manager and the Crew must also know how to use headsets properly.

The main goal of this section is to prepare the stage manager for the Technical Rehearsal. It is the stage manager's duty to call all of the cues on the Master Cue Sheet, indicating to each individual on the running crew when to execute each cue.
