Adaptations

Adaptations are made to meet the needs of individual students. These needs vary greatly, from those of the functionally integrated to those who would benefit from enriched or supplemental activities. Teachers adapt in three ways. Teachers may adapt specific goals and still meet the foundational objectives of the curriculum. Adaptations could occur in the learning environment itself, or in the instructional methods utilized to construct the learning experience. Adaptations which preclude fulfilling all foundational objectives of the curriculum become modifications and require a different designation.

Depending on the needs of your students, adaptations could be made to the activities in this module.The use of miniatures would be a potential adaptation. Using small pieces will still inform the student of the basic principles and provide the means to do a set-up and strike. Having students do a simulated show call or an individual student constructing a show call.
