9.5 The Interview
Ah the dreaded Interview. With practice and preparation you can walk into an interview with confidence and composure. Sure, it's natural to be nervous but if you go into an interview knowing what to expect and knowing how to answer difficult questions, you have a much greater chance of getting the position you applied for.

Each one of these steps is important as you will need to leave a lasting impression on the interviewer. You must be polite, professional and well prepared to answer questions. In the following activity you will work with a group to determine the guidelines for an interview based on an "opening position" in a theatre. You outline the job description and the kind of person the theatre is looking to hire. This would be best done in the manner of a job advertisement. Potential candidates, you and your classmates will submit a résumé and prepare for the interview. Draft as many questions as you can. Throw a few questions in a hat for random drawing so that not everyone knows what to expect during the interview. |
