Seldom do people think of the people behind the scenes at a great show and yet, there are more jobs for those that study the technical aspects of theatre than there are for the actors themselves. Great technicians and designers are a valuable resource in the theatre and you may even take the opportunity to pursue a rewarding career in Theatre Arts for your future.

So what kinds of opportunities are there out there? Where can you find the training necessary to land you a great career in the theatre? Who are the people that hire technicians and designers? Where are the theatres? What are the positions? What's the pay? What are the opportunities for you?

The objective of this activity is for you to research the kinds of careers that can be found in the theatre. You will create a profile of one of these positions, including the education required, schools, work sites and potential employers. Use the internet, classified adds and books to gather the information required to complete the assignment.
